REPSOL MONTESA HONDA

FIM Trial World Championship

11th round. Grand Prix of France.

Toni Bou, World Champion for third consecutive year.

Takahisa Fujinami is third in the final classification and Montesa increases its record

of world championship manufacturer's titles to 12 and its record of victories to 134.

Isola 2000 (France), 13.09.2009.- Toni Bou (Montesa Cota 4RT) has won his third trial

World Championship, all consecutives. Born in Piera (Barcelona) on October 17, 1986, and

riding with Montesa Honda since 2007, Toni Bou adds to these three won titles the same

number of Indoor championships, also consecutive. The Catalan rider celebrated his new

sports achievement in the same venue where Laia Sanz (Montesa Cota 4RT) won

yesterday her ninth women's Word Championship and just one week after Montesa won its

twelfth manufacturer's title, the fourth consecutive with the Cota 4RT four-stroke bikes. With

Bou's seven victories -three of them with Takahisa Fujinami (Montesa Cota 4RT), coming

in second and finishing third in the championship final classification- while Montesa has

increased its record of victories to 134.

The rain that fell during the second lap of the track has had a decisive influence on the

result of the event, which closed the 35th edition of the World Championship, because

when Toni Bou and Takahisa Fujinami reached the last five zones, they were very slippery.

Toni Bou: “I started off with the idea of celebrating the title with the new victory, but also

careful not to run any risks, as they were completely unnecessary today. In the end, the

result wasn't what I would have liked but we had already done the hard work step by step in

the ten previous events. Of course, I'm delighted to have revalidated my title and I must

congratulate the whole team for their work, which has once again been decisive. I don't

forget the work of Dídac Cercós, my assistant, who couldn't be with us in this last two

important events, because he was ill”.

Takahisa Fujinami: “I was in a position to win until the rain dissolved our options to victory;

there's nothing than can be done... This is the fifth time that I end up second in an event

and I thought I could have ended the championship at the top of the podium. I'm proud to

have contributed to the success of the brand and I think my third position in the general

classification is good, specially taking into account the injury that stopped me from scoring

in the first trial event in Great Britain”.
